Aging is often associated with the decay in cognitive abilities. While several

cellular changes were suggested as underlying causes of age-dependent cognitive decline,

the causal molecular underpinnings remain unclear. In my talk I will provide an overview of

key molecular steps in memory formation and discuss results from our laboratory that show

how these processes may be changed in old age.
